WETPAINTING EXTERIOR PARTS

Many metal and plastic objects that are fitted to the outside of an appliance have to be finished with an attractive coat of paint.

Nat-ext1

This finish is available in an endless variety of colours, colour effects and gloss levels. A commonly used method of applying these finishes is wetpainting.

Applications

Exterior parts for cars: bumpers, mirrors, trims, spoilers, windscreen wipers, etc.
Housings for electrical appliances: TVs, telephones, printers, household appliances, etc.

Exterior parts for trucks: doors, mudguards, windshields, engine covers, mirrors, sun visors, etc.
Parts for tractors and industrial vehicles

Method

The paints used are one or two component water or solvent-based systems, and, depending on the application, these are undercoats, unicolours, metallic colours, mica colours or transparent varnish. The paints are applied with conventional or electrostatic spray pistols, by robots or manually.

Every process is performed in ultra-clean conditions to enable that an exceptionally high quality can be guaranteed. The frequent use of water-based materials and highly advanced paint cleansing systems enable Alro to maintain a high level of environmental care.

Industrial wetpaints are applied by spraying a liquid paint onto the product to be coated. This is done in large spray chambers into which specific support tools bring the products on a transport system.
This then involves several process stages:

Pretreatment: power wash in a spray tunnel or manual cleansing
Flame treatment: optional and specifically for certain plastics
Drying
Discharging static electricity: for plastics
Applying primer coat + drying: optional
Applying colour coat + drying: optional
Applying varnish coat + drying
